Former East Coast Fleet

Notable former East Coast fleet members. This list is not exhaustive, many other ships have assisted with SpaceX offshore operations.

GO Pursuit

GO Pursuit was part of the fleet for 7 months in 2018, and again for a month in December 2018. She was used to recover fairings from the water.

Hollywood

Hollywood was the tug used to tow the OCISLY out into position in the Atlantic Ocean throughout the first half of 2019. Read more here.

Elsbeth III

Elsbeth III was the original East Coast ASDS tug. She towed both the original JRTI and OCISLY over 14 missions, before being replaced by Hawk in 2017.

Just Read The Instructions

The original droneship, with the same name as the current west coast droneship, was used for a number of experimental landings from 2014 before being retired.

Former West Coast Fleet

Notable former West Coast fleet members. This list is not exhaustive, many other ships have assisted with SpaceX offshore operations.

American Islander

American Islander was a ship used to recover Cargo Dragon. The ship recovered Dragon during the first 4 CRS missions before NRC Quest took over the role.

John Henry

John Henry joined the fleet for the Iridium-8 mission to support the droneship return to port. NRC Quest was needed elsewhere to recover the CRS-16 Dragon.

Pacific Freedom

Pacific Freedom towed Just Read the Instructions for 4 missions. Pacific Freedom was retired from the fleet when JRTI moved to the East Coast. Read more here.
